Drake Field in Peachtree City continues to receive upgrades. The next one, approved by the Peachtree City Council on March 15, will see the construction of a pavilion.
The pavilion will have a 2,200 sq. ft. footprint, with 1,600 sq. ft. under the roof.
The council approved a $280,000 price with the Dockery Group. The Dockery bid was originally $391,698, the lowest of the three bids received.
City Engineer David Borkowski in a March 7 letter said city staff met with Dockery and negotiated a lumber package and roof alternative to reduce the overall price to $280,000.
Pertaining to funding for the project, $155,000 is available in the Capital Improvements Fund, with the balance coming from the Facilities Authority Bond Fund.
Another planned project in the immediate area includes a pedestrian bridge linking Drake Field.
