Ronald Lee Freeman, 50, was charged with misdemeanor violations of selling alcohol without a required license and failing to obtain a proper permit to serve food, according to Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb. Freeman was the owner of the event license, Babb added.
Babb said the Fayette County Marshal’s Office received information that alcohol and food was being served illegally at the site, licensed as “The Event Center,” which was used for various functions. On Friday and Saturday nights the center was being used as the location of Comedy Club 360.
Babb said a joint operation between the Marshal’s Office, the Special Operations Section of the sheriff’s office and the Ga. Department of Revenue had undercover operatives visiting the location on Feb. 9.
The investigation revealed that alcohol and food were being served illegally. Freeman was subsequently charged, Babb said.
Comedy Club 360 on its website identifies itself as the “only comedy club on the south side of Atlanta.”
