Two men are in custody in connection with the Feb. 11 kidnapping and assault of an 18-year-old Peachtree City man. The victim was treated at the scene and released.

Parnell Albert, 22, of Forest Park, and Jaquarius M. Rogers, 25, of Atlanta, were charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, simple assault and weapons violations, according to Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb.

Babb said the incident began in Peachtree City and ended on Snead Road west of Woolsey.

Babb said the the victim and his father, residents of Peachtree City, had previously been involved in a family dispute. Subsequently, the victim said he would be moving out of the home.

The victim on Feb. 11 contacted an acquaintance who said the man could live with him. The man arrived in Peachtree City, along with another male in the vehicle, to pick up the 18-year-old, Babb said.

Though the reason is currently unknown, the two men and the victim travelled to Snead Road, where the vehicle pulled over and the victim was forced out. while lying on the ground, he was pistol-whipped and robbed of his cash and cell phone, said Babb. The victim was left on the road as Rogers and Albert left the area with some of the victim’s belongs in the vehicle, Babb added.

Babb said the victim summoned help from nearby residents and a call for deputies was made. Deputies responding to the call stopped the vehicle based on a description given. Babb said Albert and Rogers were taken into custody.

Babb said the victim was treated at the scene and released.
