Charles Barnett (C.B.) Harris, 88, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away in his sleep on Monday, January 8, 2017. He was born on August 8, 1929 in Fayetteville, GA to Mattie Lou Harris and John Franklin Harris, the youngest of eight children. He graduated from Fayette County High School in 1946 and was the first in his family to attend college, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University and also received a bachelor’s degree of law from the Woodrow Wilson College of Law.
C.B served his country in the Air Force for three years during the Korean War. He worked in the banking industry for more than 20 years and was innovative and ahead of his time in how he marketed, served his customers and employed technology. He loved to fish, hunt, and garden, especially his tomatoes.
C.B. was a loving father, husband, and grandfather with a big heart and loved to give to others. He treated everyone equally and was always there to help friends in need.
C.B. is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Anne Harris (Mark), his son, Charles Randall Harris (Dawn), his son, David Lane Harris (Jennifer); his former wife, Joanne B. Harris, who continued to care for C.B. in his later years; his grandchildren, Trent, Lindsay and Declan; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 13 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Georgia. Immediately following the funeral service, C.B. will be laid to rest at the Mann Family Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ga. Visitation will be at 10 a.m.at the funeral home prior to the service.
