The period of May 1-8 came with two burglaries in unincorporated Fayette County and two burglaries and two entering auto incidents in Fayetteville.
The burglaries and a criminal damage in unincorporated Fayette all came at residences on New Hope Road.
One of the burglaries was reported on May 3. Sheriff Barry Babb said burglars forced entry into the home through the garage door. Items stolen included two televisions, two tablet computers, a sound bar, a shotgun, jewelry and other items.
Also on New Hope Road, on May 5 an intruder kicked in the frame to the back door, Babb said. The home was ransacked with a number of items found placed near the back door. Items stolen in the break-in included a handgun and jewelry, Babb said.
Also at a nearby residence on May 5, the front door to a vacant home was shattered though nothing appeared to have been taken, Babb said.
In Fayetteville, a burglar kicked in the front door to a home on Forrest Avenue. The homeowner on May 1 discovered a cell phone and jewelry stolen, according to Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Mike Whitlow.
A second burglary was reported on May 5 on Knight Way. While there was no forced entry discovered, the resident reported two laptops, a passport and jewelry stolen, Whitlow said.
A May 5 entering auto occurred at a business on Brandywine Boulevard. Whitlow said a passenger window was broken and a purse stolen.
Also on May 5, the passenger window of a car at the Fayette Pavilion was broken and a bag containing books and clothing was stolen, Whitlow said.
