A Peachtree City man was charged with aggravated assault in a March 23 incident in the southeast section of the city after he fired shots at his brother. No one was injured in the incident.
Timothy S. Johnson, 46, was charged with aggravated assault, discharging a weapon during the commission of a crime and misdemeanor marijuana possession, according to Peachtree City Police Department spokesperson Odilia Bergh.
Reported at 10:48 p.m., Bergh said officers responded to the Fairways apartments after receiving three calls of shots fired.
Bergh said the incident involved Johnson and his brother who were intoxicated and had been arguing, and became engaged in a physical altercation.
At one point, Johnson pulled a revolver, followed by the brother running from the apartment. Johnson also exited the apartment, then fired approximately two rounds and re-entered the apartment, Bergh said.
No one was hit when the shots were fired, Bergh added.
Officers at the scene contacted Johnson by phone and asked him to come outside the apartment. Johnson complied and was subsequently taken into custody, Bergh said.
Bergh noted that two children were asleep inside the residence and unharmed when the altercation occurred.
The apartments, once known as Peachtree Station, are off Peachtree Parkway south of Crosstown Road.
