0This weekend a section of Ga. Highway 74 will be closed to allow the installation of pipes underneath the road at Crosstown Road.
The detour will begin Friday at 11 p.m. and remain in effect through 11 p.m. Sunday night, according to an announcement from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Motorists will be detoured around the area on Crosstown Road, south Peachtree Parkway, Robinson Road and Redwine Road to get back onto Hwy. 74, officials said.
This section of Hwy. 74 was recently widened from two to six lanes by a contractor for the DOT. Another contractor is working on widening the highway just south of Crosstown from two to four lanes.
