Local author Romily Bernard won $5,000 for Angels Among Us Pet Rescue when she entered the Petco Holiday Wishes writing contest.

Bernard wrote about the special relationship her daughter enjoys with their AAU rescue dog, Tripp.

The PetCo Foundation, which has donated over 2 million to animal rescue organizations, called the story “touching” and a “great example of the power of rescuing.”
