Griffin Choral Arts has received a $3,410 Vibrant Community grant from the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Georgia Council for the Arts. These funds will be used to support the Cheers! Christmas Concerts as part of GCA’s Standing Ovation Tenth Anniversary Season.

“With the help of this grant, we are able to present two performances of our annual Christmas program at two different venues. The resources needed for professional instrumentalists, sheet music, venue expenses and all of the costs associated with creating a Children’s Chorus can be intimidating. The support of the Georgia Council for the Arts empowers us to present unforgettable performances that will inspire and ennoble our audiences and elevate their spirits through choral music,” said Dr. Stephen Mulder, artistic director of Griffin Choral Arts.

Georgia Council for the Arts received 112 applications requesting $394,961 from 69 counties across the state. Applicants included libraries, schools, arts centers, cities, historical societies, community theatres, Boys & Girls Clubs, etc.
