Notable students and grads

Zenobia Broomfield of Fayetteville, Kathy Shields of Newnan and Collier Starks of Fairburn were named to the Dean’s List at Ohio Christian University for the fall semester.

Rickey Brown of Fayetteville graduated from Troy University during the first term of the 2016-2017 academic year with an associate’s degree.

Three local students majoring in international affairs were among some 380 University of North Georgia students who participated in study-abroad and international internships during the 2015-2016 academic year. Darion Gibson of Fayetteville completed an internship in Liaocheng, China. Jacob Madrid of Sharpsburg studied Russian language and culture in Daugavpils, Latvia. Tanner Scroggins of Fayetteville participated in an internship in Odemira, Portugal.
