Midwest Food Bank – Georgia Division is assisting people whose homes have been damaged in the recent storms in West Virginia.

As a Salvation Army First Responder, Midwest Food Bank will be providing bottled drinks and personal hygiene items for people affected by the flooding.

A semi-trailer load of 25 pallets left Peachtree City June 29, said executive director Will Garner. The load included 4,500 personal hygiene backpacks and 240 cases of bottled water. The backpacks contain basic toiletry items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, shampoo, soap, deodorant and wash cloths.

These items will distributed to families in need by the Salvation Army.

Food boxes and additional water bottles are being sent from Midwest Food Bank’s Indianapolis, IN, Bloomington, Morton and Peoria, IL divisions.

To offset the costs of this relief effort, donations may be sent to Midwest Food Bank, 220 Parkside Ct., Peachtree City, GA, 30269, or visit http://peachtree.midwestfoodbank.org.
