The Fayette County Board of Commissioners will reconsider proposed guidelines for the Starr’s Mill Historic Overlay District and Overlay Zone as part of the agenda for its June 23 regular meeting.
Three separate public hearings are posted, the first of which regards proposed ordinance amendments for the regulation of the district. Another hearing will cover the proposed Color and Brick Palette Resolution for the district, and the last one is to amend the Land Use Element Text and Future Land Use Plan Map of the Fayette County Comprehensive Plan for the area of the intersection of Hwy. 74, State Route 85 and Padgett Road.
The board will also hear a rezoning request for 2.45 acres fronting on Hwy. 85 from C-H to M-1 to allow for an auto repair, paint and body shop.
The final scheduled public hearing is for a request to rezone 100.967 acres fronting on Dogwood Trail from A-R to R-50 to develop a single-family residential subdivision with 68 lots. The Planning Commission recommended denial by a unanimous vote.
The consent agenda includes:
Appointment of Peachtree City Battalion Chief Chad Matheny and re-appointment of Peachtree City Assistant Chief Kevin Baggett to the Office of Emergency Medical Services Regional 4 Council for a two-year term expiring June 30, 2018.
Approval of a $539,196.47 maintenance agreement between Fayette County and Motorola for the 800 MHz ASTRO Simulcast System.
A $312,500 subgrant agreement with the Atlanta Regional Commission for an update to the Fayette County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP), with 80 percent of the costs covered by the ARC and a 20 percent local match.
Approval of a request from Peachtree City to execute an intergovernmental agreement with Peachtree City to share costs up to $14,987.50 for maintenance work on the pedestrian bridge along Redwine Road near the entrance of the Preserves Subdivision.
A staff recommendation to add Flowers Field subdivision to Fayette County’s Street Light Program.
The board will consider the following recommended appointments:
Donald Sission, Taya Scott and Dr. Loida Bonney to the Fayette County Hospital Authority.
Dr. Mark Morehart, Therol Brown and James Oliver, Jr. to the Fayette County Hospital Authority.
Timothy Etson, Sr., Lavonia Stepherson and Charles Oddo to the Fayette County Hospital Authority for appointment.
Charlie Cave, Robert Johnson, Samuel Patton, Heather Cap and Donna Rosser to the Fayette County Public Arts Committee.
Jeffrey Mellin, Roshier Sbaja, Tina Brown, Donna Thompson, Vicki Turner and Richard Brown to the Fayette County Public Arts Committee.
The commissioners will consider a plan for 29.63 acres east of Price Road Estates subdivision to be annexed into the city of Fayetteville. City officials have also notified the county of the intention to rezone the property from R-40 (Single-Family District) to to RTHC-PUD (Residential Townhouse Condominium). By law the board, as the county’s governing authority, may formally object to the annexation or choose not to.
