Carrie Louise Kent, 86, of Acworth passed away on February 2, 2016. She was born on July 30, 1929 to Bon and Montiene Stalcup.
She was a master seamstress, enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Louise loved her church and served as a leader, including secretary to the pastor and daycare director. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tyrus Cobb Kent; her daughter, Bonnie Walsh; her parents, Bon and Montiene Stalcup; two sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her son, David Kent (Jennifer) of Brooks, Ga.; her brother, John Ray Stalcup (Helen) of Stilson; her sisters, Martha Jo Newman (Billy) of Statesboro and Mary Francis Harville (Joseph) of Statesboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Lithia Springs First Baptist Church, with Rev. Eric Walsh, Rev. Barry Thompson and Rev. Marion Beavers officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 3721 Bankhead Highway, Douglasville, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
