On Dec. 15th Armed Forces Mission will conduct the last I Will Intervene Challenge for 2015. This particular workshop is being offered free of charge thanks to concerned community members who have helped to underwrite the program.

The Dec. 15 workshop will utilize the Listen-Learn-Lead Suicide Intervention Training curriculum which is a one-day program based on work with more than 25,000 soldiers.

Troops and veterans have a 300 percent higher risk of suicide than the general public. The model is applicable to anyone at risk and participants will gain the skills that can help those in immediate risk of harm whether veteran, civilian, teen or adult.

This workshop will have several personnel from the Peachtree City Police Department and other agencies participating.

Nearly 4,000 community caregivers have participated in the Challenge since inception in 2013.

While the workshop is free, registration is required. Open to all 16 years and older. CE credit available for mental health professionals and POST credit available for law enforcement.

The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
