The October meeting of the South Metro GeorgiaCarry.Org chapter will be Thursday, Oct. 22, 6-8:30 p.m. at the Fayette Event Center, 174 North Glynn Street in Fayetteville. It is behind Arby’s and Captain Ds, off of Georgia Highway 85, north of the court house.

The first hour is to be a Mexican Fiesta party/social hour. The menu for the meeting is chicken & beef fajitas with all the fixings, chips & salsa, along with dessert. Those planning to attend the fiesta should RSVP by end of day Tuesday Oct. 20 to give organizers enough time to prepare & ensure everyone will have enough to eat & drink. RSVP by email to strick54@bellsouth.net or gunowner1972@gmail.com or send a Facebook message. Ice tea will also be served along with bottled water. Cost is set at $8 per person.

Everyone is welcome to attend the 7 p.m. meeting and no RSVP is required. For the first 20 minutes “Scenario Chris” will present “What would you do?” It is billed as “yet another thought-provoking scenario for all to ponder, and weigh in with your assessment.”

This month’s speaker at 7:30 p.m. will be Marybeth Wilburn Crawford, who will be presenting “Refuse to be a victim.” The presentation will include personal safety tips and techniques needed to avoid dangerous situations and avoid becoming a victim.
