The Holliday Dorsey Fife Museum is hosting its eighth annual Cemetery Spirit Walk Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16-17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. This year the Spirit Walk is honoring Fayette County veterans from the Creek Indian Wars to the Persian Gulf War.

Tickets can be purchased at the Museum Oct. 12-17 during operating hours and also at the event. All ticket holders will be given a half-hour time slot and taken in groups of 10 to 15 people.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 5-12 years old. There is no charge for children under 5. The proceeds will go toward purchasing a new climate control system for the Museum.

On both nights visitors can meet real live ghost hunters from the Casework: Paranormal Group as they share their results from studying the Holliday-Dorsey-Fife Museum. While in line, visitors can enjoy the hauntingly historic southern music performed by local members of the SCV.  Free refreshments of hot cocoa and treats will be provided Friday night by Rolling Hills Baptist Church and Saturday night by Southern Harm Derby Dames.

Also, during the month of October the Museum is featuring a special exhibit of Victorian Mourning Rites. Mourning jewelry, gowns and letters from the 1800s will be on display.

The Holliday Dorsey Fife Museum is located off the Fayetteville square at 140 West Lanier Avenue. Its normal operating hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended Friday hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone 770-716-5332 with any questions.
