A forum featuring the candidates in the special election for the District 5 seat on the Fayette County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, 6-8 p.m. at the Fayette County Library in Fayetteville.

Angela Bean, Peyton Riley and Charles Rousseau are the candidates who qualified last week for the special election and will be participating in the event.

Each will have a three-minute opening statement, followed by questions from moderators Tyrone Jones and Leonard Presberg. Jones heads the county’s Republican Party and Presberg heads the county’s Democratic Party.

There will also be questions from the audience and a two-minute closing statement from each candidate.

Rev. Edward Johnson is the master of ceremonies.

At the close of the program there will be a meet & greet.

The forum is sponsored by the Fayette County branch of the NAACP and the Fayette Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Fayette County Democratic Committee, Fayette County Republican Party and Fayette County Issues Tea Party.
