Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville invites the community to attend the Global Leadership Summit, produced by the Willow Creek Association, on the church campus Aug. 6 and 7. The summit is telecast live from Willow Creek’s campus near Chicago to over 350 host sites. Heritage is one of four sites in the state of Georgia.

The cost to attend the summit is $209 per person for up to nine people and $189 per person for 10 or more.

The GLS is a two-day, world-class leadership event experienced by more than 260,000 leaders around the world, representing some 15,000 churches.

According to Willow Creek, “No matter where you lead, The Global Leadership Summit is designed to help you get better and embrace your grander vision—the reason God called you to lead.”

The Summit, in its 21st year, has seen “millions of people attend, thousands of lives changed, and an unknown number of businesses and communities affected by those changed lives.”

In addition to Bill Hybels, founding pastor of Willow Creek Church, this year’s speaker list includes: Horst Schulze, chairman and CEO, Capella Hotel Group, former president, and former COO, The Ritz-Carlton Group;Ed Catmul co-founder and president of Pixar Animation Studios, president of Walt Disney Animation Studios; Sallie Krawcheck, chair, Ellevate Network, former president, Bank of America’s Global Wealth & Investment Management; Adam Grant, professor, Wharton School of Business and best-selling author; and Jim Collins, nationally acclaimed business thinker and best-selling author “Good to Great.”

“Heritage’s vision for community engagement is strong, and we believe this is one of the many ways we provide opportunity to connect with our local community,” said Mike Conaway, discipleship pastor.

He adds, “If a local business would like to bring a team of employees, we will make rooms available for the teams to break for lunch and debrief the sessions they just attended.” In addition, he says, “The summit being local also provides the opportunity for people to attend and still get work done at the office.”

Conaway also says, “If a local company doesn’t see the value in an employee attending, we can provide a letter to the employers to help them understand the value they will receive by their employees attending the GLS. Also, certificates of verification are  available to anyone whose employers credit them for attending. (Attending the GLS is equivalent to 1.3 CEUs.)”

Bill Hybels, founder of the Global Leadership Summit said, “If there was ever a time in human history that was crying out for courageous  leadership, the time is now. The Summit,” he says, “is an opportunity to bring together individuals, business leaders, community leaders, and local government leaders to improve on their leadership skills. It is known for being world class, affordable, and accessible.”

According to Willow Creek, each Summit faculty member is carefully selected to deliver intellectually rigorous content in an environment that fosters vigorous thinking and dialogue.
