The Coweta County Democratic Party has announced plans for its annual Atkinson-Arnall tribute dinner. It is the primary gathering event of local Democrats, not only from within Coweta County, but throughout western Georgia. The dinner will be Aug .13 at The Newnan Centre.
State Rep. Bob Trammell and County Commissioner Al Smith are on the program with this year’s keynote speaker, state Rep. Stacey Y. Abrams.
Rep. Abrams received Governing Magazine’s Public Official of the Year award in 2014 and was recently recognized by the Washington Post as one of the 40 Most Interesting Women in Politics. She is the first woman to lead either party in the Georgia General Assembly and is also the first black leader in the State House of Representatives, as the House Minority Leader.
Honoring two of Coweta County’s very own Democratic governors of Georgia, sponsorship opportunities exist that include tickets to the tribute as well as reserved seating. Group pricing ranges from $250 to $1,000 depending on the size of the group. All donors and sponsors will be recognized within the event program. Individual tickets are also available, but do not provide reserved seating, for $50.
