A July 13 threatening phone call to the Walmart store in Peachtree City received a response from local law enforcement, and the store was evacuated as a precaution.
No threat materialized, police said.
Peachtree City Police spokesman Mark Brown said officers responded to the Ga. Highway 54 West Walmart at approximately 11 p.m. on a report of a threat by phone.
Walmart management advised that they received a call from an unknown person stating that he was coming to Walmart to cause damage, Brown said.
Brown said the store was cleared by responding officers and they remained onsite as a preventive measure.
Brown said the investigation is continuing.
