John Lynch of the Fayette County Historical Society spoke recently to the Peachtree City Rotary Club. He talked about Civil War events in and around the Fayette County area.  He entertained the audience with stories about how the Fayette County courthouse was spared from being burned by Union forces, and the major cavalry skirmish at Shakerag by the retreating Federal Army.
