Fayetteville resident Rachel Mannor has been named Clayton State University’s Academic Recognition Day Representative, an honor that advances her to potential statewide recognition later this year by the University System of Georgia.
Clayton State University will be honoring its top students at the annual Academic Honors Convocation on Thursday, April 16, in Spivey Hall, starting at 2 p.m. and foremost among the honorees is Mannor, a graduating senior business major, who is a non-traditional student.
She is married and currently works at Pratt Industries as an intern in the Accounts Receivable Department. She is also working towards the extra courses that her 150 hour Certified Public Account license requires. Her ultimate goal is to be a CPA partner or a CFO for a private company. Once she retires from that, she would like to open her own business.
For fun, Mannor has a Hobby Farm where she and her husband raise chickens as well as five sheep. She also likes photography, crocheting, and watching movies.
“My main goal in college is to be successful. I also want to be an example for other non-traditional students,” she said. “I have found that receiving an education is very rewarding, and no matter how old a person is, it is never too late to go back to school. Learning is a life-long process.”
