A first-year German student at Whitewater High School is the winner of a coveted award and a trip to study in Germany this summer.
Tyler Crowder is one of only three winners of the Goethe-Institut’s Award of Excellence contest out of 4,000 participants nationwide.
Participants were asked to view a video and correctly answer multiple-choice quiz questions relating to it.
This year’s video, titled “Azubis (apprentice) Wanted – Vocational Training in Germany and the U.S.,” highlighted the opportunities offered through vocational training.
As a winner, Crowder was awarded a scholarship to Germany this summer to study the German language. The scholarship covers the language course, accommodations, meals, full-time supervision, day trips, and airfare up to $900.
