The Coweta County Quilts of Valor honored two World War II veterans at Piedmont Newnan Fitness Center on Feb. 5.

Carl Gepperth, 93, (seated, left) served in the U.S. Army in France and Germany. James Stitcher, 87, (seated, right) served with the U.S. Navy. After the war, Stitcher went on to serve for 22 years in the U.S. Air Force.

The Quilts of Valor is a national foundation of volunteers who make quilts to cover service members and veterans who have been touched by war.

The Coweta County chapter started in August 2014 and has donated 28 quilts to date.
