George Terry Parker
December 8, 1953 – October 30, 2026

Terry Parker, age 72, was born December 8, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a longtime resident of Brooks, Georgia.

Terry was the son of Mary Yates Parker and Madison Homer Parker Sr. He attended school in Forest Park, Georgia, and Camden Military Academy. He dedicated his working years to his career as an electrician with the General Services Administration (GSA).

After retiring, Terry especially enjoyed traveling out west with his wife, Genny, exploring new places, and taking in the sights along the way. No matter where his travels took him, he was always ready to strike up a conversation. With his unmistakable Southern drawl and easygoing personality, Terry could make a friend just about anywhere he went.

Terry was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and just about anything involving the outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking pictures, attending high school football games, and watching NASCAR.

Known for his laid-back and easygoing personality, Terry was always ready for an adventure. He believed in living by the Boy Scout motto, “Always Be Prepared.” He had a special love for animals, nature, and the simple pleasures of life.

One of Terry’s special traditions was playing Santa Claus for close friends and family. He loved bringing smiles and laughter to those around him and creating special Christmas memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Genny B. Parker; his sons, Brooks Parker (Christina Parker) and Allen Parker (Caylin Parker); his grandchildren, Granger, Rose, and George (Timmy) Parker; and his cousins, Brandy Parker and Mary Jane Burkhalter.

Terry will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of family and the outdoors, his friendly nature, and the joy he brought to those around him. He truly never met a stranger, and his presence will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Memorial Service for Terry will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home with his Sunday School Teachers Jim Stoyall and Jim Young; as well as his lifelong friend, John Knox officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritans Purse International Relief www.samaritanspurse.org in memory of Terry.
