PTC house fire causes minor damage and no injuries

A mid-afternoon house fire in Peachtree City on Dec. 23 resulted in no injuries and resulted in damage mainly in the area of the chimney.

Peachtree City Fire and Rescue spokesman John Dunlap said the call came in at approximately 3:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and was made by the residents who observed smoke in the home at 102 Harris Halt off Doubletrace Lane.

Dunlap said engines responded within five minutes. Firefighters had extinguished the flames within approximately 20 minutes, he said, adding that the fire that was confined mainly to the chimney area.

There were no injuries in the incident, Dunlap said.

Dunlap said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
