Whitewater Alum Snellings Wins UGA Scholar-Athlete Award

Whitewater High alum Will Snellings is the recipient of the prestigious 2026-27 Joel Eaves Scholar-Athlete Award at the University of Georgia.

Snellings and soccer player Kiera Staude were honored as the male and female student-athletes with the highest grade point averages entering the fall semester of their senior year. An athlete also must have earned at least two varsity letters to be eligible for the award.

Snellings is the seventh member of the football program to win the prestigious award. He is an Agribusiness major and a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Snellings became the team’s main long snapper this season. Over his first three seasons at Georgia, he made seven appearances.

Joel Eaves was the Director of Athletics at UGA from 1963-79. The award was established in 1991 to honor the academic achievements of student-athletes.
