Peachtree Jazz Edition (PJE) is celebrating 25 years of bringing great music and great memories to audiences throughout metro Atlanta, north central Georgia, and northeast Alabama.
This fall, the 19-piece Peachtree City-based big band will bring its distinctive blend of Swing Era standards from the 1930s and ’40s, Latin tunes, and contemporary big-band charts to several special events throughout the region.
PJE’s 2026 fall performances include:
October 3, 2026 — Annual Alzheimer’s Walk at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City, Georgia
October 4, 2026 — Community Concert sponsored by Peachtree City First Presbyterian Church
October 17, 2026 — America 250 Moonlight Swing, held at the Falcon Field Airbase Georgia hangar in Peachtree City, Georgia
November 6, 2026 — Opening for renowned jazz trumpeter Rick Braun on the Trilith Live stage in Fayetteville, Georgia
December 12, 2026 – Christmas Party Entertainment in Newnan, Georgia
For 25 years, Peachtree Jazz Edition has thrilled audiences with the energy, sophistication, and timeless appeal of live big-band music. While most of the musicians live on Atlanta’s south side, PJE members also come from in-city and north-side communities.
The band grew out of musicians who first met through the popular and acclaimed South Metro Concert Band of the 1980s and ’90s. What began as a shared love of music has grown into a quarter-century tradition of performances throughout the region.
PJE musicians pursue music as an advocacy and passion alongside careers in engineering, medicine, information technology, aviation, the military, sales and marketing, education, and music education. Their professional diversity brings a wealth of experience and dedication to every performance.
Band leadership over the years has included founder Larry Williams of Jonesboro, Georgia, a former automotive plant worker; David Gaissert, a computer programmer from Peachtree City and Atlanta; and current Musical Director Ted Zitelli, a Fayette County resident who has held leadership positions in U.S. Army bands and the U.S. Armed Forces School of Music.
Over the years, Peachtree Jazz Edition has performed at an impressive variety of venues, including the Georgia Aquarium, Rialto Center for the Arts, The Fox Theatre Egyptian Ballroom, Buckhead Theatre, Yaarab Shrine, University of Georgia Botanical Garden, Bell Auditorium in Augusta, Griffin Auditorium, Barnsley Gardens, 134 Main Event Center in LaGrange, and the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater, as well as numerous wedding and private-event venues.
PJE specializes in customizing musical playlists to complement each event, including galas, fundraisers, wedding receptions, corporate events, community celebrations, and private parties. Every performance features the outstanding vocals of Tish Holly Howes.
As Peachtree Jazz Edition celebrates its 25th anniversary, the band continues its tradition of bringing audiences together through the joy of live music.
