Peachtree City Dentist Dr. Ken Ginoya Missing After Nepal Avalanche and Flood Disaster

Dr. Ketan Ginoya, the Peachtree City dentist known to patients as “Dr. Ken,” is among the Americans missing following a devastating avalanche and flood disaster along the Nepal-Tibet border.

Ginoya, 42, practices at Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry on Shakerag Hill in Peachtree City. His office confirmed to The Citizen that he was on vacation in Nepal when the disaster occurred and remains missing.

The disaster began after a massive collapse of rock and ice triggered destructive flooding in the region near the Nepal-China border. Search and recovery efforts have continued as authorities work to locate people who remain unaccounted for.

A missing-person registry created in connection with the disaster lists Ketan Ginoya, 42, of the United States, as last seen at the China-Nepal border immigration center. A separate tracing effort also identifies Ginoya among members of an Isha Foundation group who were in the area.

Ginoya’s professional biography says he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2011 and later became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He provides general, restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry at the Peachtree City practice.

His biography also notes his volunteer involvement with the Save Soil movement associated with Conscious Planet and Isha Foundation. His dental office confirmed only that Ginoya was vacationing in Nepal at the time of the disaster.

Ginoya took over Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry following the retirement of longtime Peachtree City dentist Dr. Paul Dominy.

Patient Susan Berchinski said Ginoya quickly earned her confidence after taking over the practice.

“Dr. Ken Ginoya took over Dr. Dominy’s successful Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry on Shakerag Hill after Dr. Dominy’s retirement. I was hesitant initially, but in the short time he has been there, I am very confident in his abilities and the care he takes with patients,” Berchinski said.

“He and his wife have a young son in a local elementary school, and he is enthusiastic about the community here in PTC. He also impressed me with the staff he has hired.”

Ginoya’s office told The Citizen that his wife prefers not to speak with the media at this time.

Search efforts are continuing in the disaster area.
