A Tyrone woman was fatally injured and two other people hurt Wednesday night when two cars collided on Ga. Highway 54 East in Fayetteville.
Charis Walker, 23, Tyrone, was killed on impact, said Lieutenant Mike Whitlow of the Fayetteville Police Department.
Ms. Walker’s 2003 Toyota Camry was crossing Hwy. 54 from Cobblestone Boulevard to Weatherly Drive and was struck in the driver’s side by an east-bound 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by Richard Jennings, 46, of Ellenwood in Clayton County, Whitlow said.
“Mr. Jennings was transported to the Atlanta Medical Center where he is in critical condition,” Whitlow said.
“There were two children in the Camry, a 14-year-old female, who was uninjured, and a 19-year-old female, who was transported to the Piedmont-Fayette Hospital and is in stable condition,” Whitlow said.
The Fayetteville Police Department Traffic Team and the Peachtree City Police Department Traffic Unit are investigating the accident, Whitlow said.
