Fayette County students continued shining among the best in the state on the 2026 Georgia Milestones Assessment.
Fayette County Public Schools ranked top 3 in all three subjects among comparably-sized districts. They ranked 1st in Algebra and US History. In all subject categories, the majority of Fayette County students scored at the “proficient or above” level, meaning they are considered on track to being college and career ready.
In Algebra, 72.3% of Fayette students scored “proficient or above,” compared to 48.0% statewide. That ranks best in the state among districts with at least 900 test takers. Fayette tested more than 1,800 students.
In Biology, 68.0% of Fayette students scored “proficient or above,” compared to 47.2% statewide. That ranks third highest in the state among districts with at least 700 test takers. Fayette tested more than 1,700 students.
In US History, 61.3% of Fayette students scored “proficient or above,” compared to 38.6% statewide. That ranks best in the state among districts with at least 700 test takers. Fayette tested more than 900 students.
Because the 2025-2026 school year marked the first administration of Georgia Milestones English Language Arts assessments aligned to the state’s new K-12 English Language Arts Standards, additional test development activities must be completed before ELA scores can be calculated and reported.
