Arlene was born in Bruning, Neb. and graduated from Nebraska Weslyan University as a theater major. After touring with the theater company, Arlene went to Alaska to visit her sister and started working in television. She met and married T. W. “Bill” Harris and had two sons, Tad and Mike, and moved to Georgia and then Illinois. Arlene and Bill ran their own business in Illinois for several years until the late 1970’s. Arlene worked in marketing for a medical products company and became the Vice President of Marketing. She retired in 1989 and moved to Georgia to be close to family.
