0PEACHTREE CITY, GA – Today, Congressman Brian Jack (GA-03) welcomed Consul General Kenichi Matsuda and representatives of the Consulate-General of Japan in Atlanta to Peachtree City on an economic tour of Japanese-owned, American-operated businesses. Together, they toured Hoshizaki America, TDK Components USA, Shinsei Corporation, and Asahi Biosciences, Inc., and discussed the vital importance of international investment in Fayette County and Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District.
Congressman Jack said, “I am honored to welcome the Consul General of Japan Kenichi Matsuda to Peachtree City. In the years after Peachtree City’s founding, international investment from companies like Hoshizaki and TDK accelerated the growth of our beloved city. Today, Japanese-owned, American-operated businesses in Peachtree City employ over 1,500 of my constituents, and I am grateful for Consul General Matsuda’s partnership and support as we work to create more jobs across Georgia’s incredible 3rd Congressional District.”
The visit comes at a consequential moment for U.S.—Japan economic cooperation, as yesterday President Trump announced additional details of his Administration’s historic trade deal with Japan. In a post on TruthSocial, President Trump said, “Japan is now officially, and financially, moving forward with the FIRST set of Investments under its $550 Billion Dollar Commitment to invest in the United States of America… [including] three TREMENDOUS Projects in the Strategic Areas of Oil & Gas in the Great State of Texas, Power Generation in the Great State of Ohio, and Critical Minerals in the Great State of Georgia.”
Consul General of Japan Kenichi Matsuda said, “Japan and the Peach State have a longstanding, strong and enduring relationship, and Peachtree City has served as a cornerstone for Japanese investment in the region. Following the tour, Congressman Jack hosted Consul General Matsuda and the Japanese delegation for dinner at Mr. Fuji Steakhouse and Sushi for a teppanyaki dinner.
