The North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church has announced the appointment of the Rev. Kory Trinrud to Fayetteville’s Providence United Methodist Church as associate pastor. Providence‘s senior pastor, Diane Parrish, says, “We are excited to have Kory come on board with our pastoral staff. His love for the Lord and his passion for the Gospel in mission will be an integral part of expanding the ministries of Providence for the cause of Christ.”

Trinrud graduated from South Gwinnett High School and earned a bachelor of arts in religion from the University of Georgia, where his wife, Lindsay, earned her teaching degree. Trinrud says he heard God’s call during a mission trip to Ghana, then earned his master of divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in 2010. He was pastor-in-charge for two churches in the Canton area, Holly Springs and Shiloh United Methodist Churches, before becoming associate pastor at LaGrange First UMC in 2011. He is on the LaGrange District Board of Laity and serves as the young adult ministry coordinator for the LaGrange District Connectional Ministry Team.

Because of his strong interest in missions, Trinrud led the LaGrange District’s mission team of 26 people from eight churches on trip to El Salvador in April, where the group did medical and construction work.

Trinrud and his family live in Sharpsburg,

“We are very excited to be part of Fayette and Coweta counties and look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know the area,” he said. “Lindsay starts teaching math at Newnan High School in the fall, and our children are excited to have new schools, so we look forward to many years here.”
