Dr. Noah Marchese, owner of HealthChoice Center of Peachtree City, offers a variety of treatment options for patients with peripheral neuropathy – a condition that causes nerve damage, often leading to pain, numbness, tingling, balance issues and sensitivity to temperature.

Dr. Marchese primarily treats patients who suffer from diabetic neuropathy and neuropathy caused by spinal injuries. Of those diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, 80% have diabetic neuropathy. Other causes include chemotherapy, herniated disks, certain medications and genetic factors.

In cases of diabetic neuropathy, patients often experience issues with their circulatory systems. To address this, Dr. Marchese uses innovative low-level light laser therapy, which increases blood flow and helps alleviate pain caused by peripheral neuropathy. He has used this treatment for eight years. and it has been revolutionary for patients in severe pain- some of which were at risk of amputation.

Dr. Marchese recalls one patient who drove from Alabama to HealthChoice with a diabetic ulcer on his foot that nearly led him to amputation before Dr. Marchese stepped in.

“He’d tried every ointment, packed it with gauze, everything. His doctor was going to put him in a cast to get pressure off it one last time before they amputated his foot,” said Dr. Marchese. “He came to me, we started doing red light laser therapy, vibration therapy, and softwave therapy and he is almost fully healed now. Even his would specialist has reached out asking what we had done to help his ulcer heal!”

At HealthChoice, patients with peripheral neuropathy can receive treatments including low-light laser therapy, vibration plate therapy, vitamins and SoftWave therapy, an acoustic sound wave technology that increases blood flow, activates stem cells and promotes the healing of soft tissue.

David Butler, a 73-year-old peripheral neuropathy patient treated by Dr. Marchese, lost a significant amount of feeling in his feet, to the point where he was unable to feel the ground he stood on.

“I could go into the bathroom at night and I wouldn’t know whether I was standing on wood or carpeted flooring,” said Butler.

Butler appreciates the expansive selection of treatment options included in HealthChoice’s peripheral neuropathy care plan, and feels that Dr. Marchese’s personable attentiveness made for a positive treatment experience with vast improvements. He says the feeling in his feet improved by more than 50%, giving him better balance and gait.

“His care included the nutritional supplements, the red light treatments, vibration therapy,  and the appointments.” Not only that, but Dr. Marchese is very nice, always caring for and checking in on me,” said Butler.

Peripheral neuropathy may prevent patients from living life to the fullest, but it is not a condition without solutions. Those interested in seeking help can book a consultation with Dr. Marchese at HealthChoice Center in Peachtree City at 770-408-0184 or online at the HealthChoice website.
