The second annual Christian music festival “Risen Fest,” a free admission event sponsored by Fayetteville’s New Vision Church, will take place on May 8, at 7 p.m. at The Villages Amphitheater in Fayetteville.

Bringing more than 1,000 people in 2009, Risen Fest launched its explosive first annual kick-off as a community outreach event to celebrate the church’s five year anniversary. Due to the recent devastation in Haiti, the mission-minded New Vision Church decided to focus this year’s event towards relief efforts in this anguished country.

The high energy Christian rock music festival will feature AudioAdrenaline’s multi Grammy Award-winning duo Will McGinnis and Mark Stuart, with the Know Hope Collective. Joining them will be New Vision’s own House of Thomas, and the Lilburn, Georgia based band, The Waiting. There will be a pre-show performance beginning at 6:40 p.m. by the southeast interpretive movement teams, Vision 2 Hear Wave. During the festival donations/ contributions will be encouraged to support the Hands & Feet project – a children’s village in Jacmel, Haiti that is dedicated to providing a caring and loving environment for orphaned children.

“The Hands & Feet Project exists to care for orphans and abandoned children of the world with the love of Christ,” a spokesperson said. “Its vision is to raise a generation of orphans who will grow into men and women who will have a relationship with Christ and be leaders in their communities. The vision also is to give people from the United States the chance to experience the mission field and therefore be changed for the better”

Hands & Feet Project, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is a children’s village in Jacmel, Haiti that was started by the band Audio Adrenaline in 2004, and now cares for 40 children.

“Risen Fest is one of the highlight events of the year for our church,” says Alan Parker, senior pastor at New Vision. “It’s really awesome to see all of our volunteers come together for this incredible event, you can really feel the power of our Lord at work.”
