To enhance safety and streamline entry at school athletic events, Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) has implemented a Clear Bag Policy effective immediately.

The policy requires that all bags brought into FCPS athletic venues be transparent and clearly visible, regardless of size or style. Acceptable clear bags include tote bags, backpacks, storage bags, purses, waist bags, and clutch bags, provided they are made of clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC.

“Our priority is ensuring the safety of our students, families, and fans while maintaining a welcoming environment,” said Oatha Mann, Executive Director of Athletics, Discipline and Safety. “This policy helps prevent delays at entry gates and creates a safer space for everyone.”

Exceptions will be made for diaper bags and medically necessary items, which will be subject to proper inspection at the entrance.
