A local group dedicated to raising money to combat Multiple Sclerosis last weekend turned its energy to a massive cleanup project with Keep Peachtree City Beautiful.

Erin’s Fight put its might into cleaning up an unofficial dump site off Dividend Drive. A group of 15 volunteers removed eight truckloads of old tires, building materials and household waste, organizers said.

“As a group, we’ve wanted to do something for the community, and this was the perfect opportunity to get back,” said Erin’s Fight team captain Jack Hawkins. “Although the project was difficult, it was a fantastic day to be outside and kick off spring in this way.”

Erin’s Fight is also collaborating with KPTCB for an early summer project in which they will ride their bikes along the path system to complete a litter survey to help improve the appearance of open and public spaces in the city.

Erin’s Fight this week participated in the first of two charity bicycle rides benefitting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. For more information about the team or if you want to get involved in their next project, visit www.erinsfight.org.
