Fayetteville First United Methodist Church (FFUMC) will host a night of candlelight to include a candlelight dinner and silent auction along with an annual candlelight concert on Sunday, Dec. 22. The concert is free to the community, and the dinner and auction proceeds benefit two local mission projects.

Although the deadline for tickets to the dinner has passed, one can still attend the auction and concert.

Themed gift baskets will be open for bids at the silent auction which starts Sunday morning and opens again during the dinner until 6:15 p.m. All proceeds from the candlelight dinner and the silent auction will benefit two mission projects, Fayette Samaritans and North Fayette Elementary School, the church’s partner in education.

Each year the free candlelight concert features violinist Sonia Squires and pianist Rick Massengale along with other musicians to celebrate the season.

“This year brings new excitement,” said Massengale, music director, “as two soloists, Alison Kirkland and Eric Lindsey, present all new pieces for the concert. We also are pleased to welcome Dr. Richard Bell of the Southern Crescent Symphony Orchestra to conduct our Candlelight Orchestra. We are delighted to offer this concert of wonderful music by talented musicians free to the entire community.”

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. The community is invited to attend this family event.
