A northeast Fayette County man was the victim of a May 30 home invasion during which he was assaulted and some of his belongings, including his vehicle, were stolen.
Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies responded to the Astaire Manor residence off Ga. Highway 314 at approximately 9 p.m., finding that the homeowner had been assaulted but was refusing medical treatment.
Babb said the homeowner answered a knock at the door and found two men outside. They entered the home, assaulted the man and stole a number of items from his home, including his vehicle, said Babb, adding that one of the men produced a handgun during the home invasion.
The men were described as black males in their late 20s to early 30s with short hair. One of the men was approximately 5-feet-7-inches in height with a slender build and wearing dark pants and a plaid shirt. The other man was approximately 5-feet-10-inches in height also with a slender build and wearing dark pants and a light-colored shirt, said Babb.
Babb noted that the male homeowner was the only person in the house at the time of the home invasion.
