Fayette County deputies on May 3 arrested two armed robbers who minutes earlier held night-shift employees of the Burger King restaurant on North Glynn Street in Fayetteville at gunpoint while they robbed the store. A description of their vehicle provided by a witness led to their capture on Ga. Highway 85 North.

Kameron C. Murray, 21, and Gregory C. Young, Jr., 20, both of Riverdale, were each charged with one count of armed robbery, four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of false imprisonment and one count of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, according to arrest reports.

Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw said Murray and Young entered the restaurant at approximately 10:45 p.m. near closing time. Both men produced handguns and held employees at bay during the robbery, Crawshaw said. None of the store employees was injured during the robbery and no shots were fired, Crawshaw added.

A witness observed the men fleeing from the restaurant and called 911, said Crawshaw.

Deputies soon spotted the vehicle, stopped it and took Murray and Young into custody, said Crawshaw.
