Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City welcomes two guest worship leaders May 4-5. On Saturday at 7 p.m. Perry Springman will be the guest musician. Springman is lead vocalist and songwriter for Perry and The Poor Boys, a band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Formerly a youth minister, Springman now devotes his time to his music and to World Vision. He will be en route to a Worship Vision ministry in the Dominican Republic. He has inspired concert audiences to sponsor 9,000 children for World Vision. He may be found on YouTube and Facebook.
The guest preacher on Sunday will be Keith Johnson of NovusWay, formerly Lutheridge+Lutherock Minstries. NovusWay operates four retreat centers in the Southeast, one of which is Lutheranch near Tallapoosa. Lutheranch sits on 519 acres purchased in 2007 by the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA. It is being developed into a complete retreat center.
Christ Our Shepherd has already been supportive with donations: a mountain is named after a former pastor; a meadow is named for a COS donor family; and many other gifts have come from the congregation. Johnson is executive director of NovusWay. He will speak at 8:30, 10:50 and 11 a.m.
