Author and Newnan resident Tricia Kvidt enjoys acting and the arts. But recently Kvidt, who is also the mother of four young daughters, has turned her creative experience to writing books for children. The three-book series is entitled “The girl and the little brown mouse.”

Kvidt explained that her idea for the series of three books was loosely based on her six-year-old daughter. The first two books, “Friends Forever” and “Big Sisters” are currently available at Amazon and www.createspace.com while the third in the series, The Goodbye,” is expected to be available by April.

So what is the first book in the series about? “Friends Forever” begins with 6-year-old Jaida and her birthday party. Jaida is somewhat shy and does not have many friends, Kvidt said. So Jaida makes a birthday wish for a new friend, a new best friend.

Though it does not come immediately, Jaida’s wish does come true. And her new friend is none other than a little brown mouse named Randy.

“Randy helps kids understand that they will be important in life,” Kvidt said of the helpful little mouse. “He helps kids gain confidence and self-reliance and he helps them to be unafraid to be the person they were intended to be.”

For a four-legged friend with a long tail, Randy is quite the inspiration.

So what happens in the two remaining books? You will have to see for yourself after you order them.
