Students at Robert J. Burch Elementary School in Tyrone participated in a coin drive to help show their Burch value of kindness. Burch students and teachers set a goal of raising $500 to help impoverished families in third-world countries through World Vision. Fourth grade teacher Cori Davis brought the idea to Burch and students embraced the philosophy of “Burch Bears Care” raising $675 for the World Vision fundraiser. With the funds raised in Burch’s “Spirit of Christmas” coin drive, they will help nine families by providing six goats and 18 chickens to families in need. This World Vision project allowed Burch students to see how coins, heart and purpose all came together to make a difference. The holiday season is a great time to remind students of the Burch value of kindness. Photo/Special.
