Police suspect insurance fraud; two other cars damaged

A Peachtree City woman was arrested Aug. 17 for arson and insurance fraud after she allegedly set fire to a vehicle two days earlier at the Concord Village Apartments, police said.

The fire also damaged two vehicles that were parked on either side of the blazing vehicle, officials said.

Juanita T. Tripp, 48, of Peachtree Station Circle was charged with three counts of first degree arson, two counts of second degree arson, two counts of making false statements or writings and one count of insurance fraud, officials said. All of the charges are felonies, police said.

The investigation was conducted by the Peachtree City Police Department and the Peachtree City Fire Department arson investigators along with the Georgia State Fire Marshall’s Investigative Unit, officials said.
