Sheriff race lags far behind judge, magistrate race fund-raising

In the fund-raising department, the race for Fayette County Sheriff is almost a dead heat.

Incumbent Fayette County Sheriff Wayne Hannah has raised $12,980 so far this political season compared to his challenger, former Fayette sheriff Lt. Barry Babb, who has reported $12,125 in cash donations to his campaign.

Hannah has the advantage, however, in rolling over some $34,289 in previous donations from his first campaign for office four years ago.

Hannah reported getting $4,180 in donations this year that were below the $101 reporting threshold. He also reported getting $1,684.53 in in-kind donations this year.

McMillian reported getting $1,545 in donations below the $101 reporting threshold and $867 in in-kind donations.

Thompson also noted that he has received $4,300 in in-kind contributions to date. Sanderson reported receiving $2,100 in in-kind contributions.
