Charles Joseph McCusker, Jr. passed away on January 8, 2025. He was born in “Fishtown” Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Lillian and Charles McCusker on December 4, 1949, the youngest of fifteen children. He proudly served in the Air Force from 1968-1974 and became an airplane mechanic, working for Eastern Airlines and Northwest Airlines. He later achieved a career dream working as an inspector with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Although he had many responsibilities, he was always lending a helpful hand to others and devoted his life to doing so. He was a generous friend to all and found great joy in supporting others with his warm hand, joyful demeanor and sweet smile. He was a humorous, loving gentleman.
He enjoyed seeing live music, riding in his ‘55 Chevy with the windows down and having his dear animals near him. He was an avid classic car enthusiast who enjoyed refurbishing many automobiles. In addition to creating a beautiful garden for his home, he made every effort to improve experiences for those around him. Many in Peachtree City will remember Charlie for his coaching of his daughter’s softball team and his grandson’s baseball teams.
His greatest love, without question, was his family. He will be greatly missed by all that adored him. A devoted and loving husband to Diane for over 41 years; they were happiest together. He is survived by his daughters, Candy Rembisz (Jeff) of Peachtree City, Sarah McCusker (Helena Lamb) of Los Angeles, California, Summer McCusker of Atlanta, grandchildren Skylar Rembisz (fiancé Michael Dunbar) of Johns Creek, Logan Rembisz of Peachtree City, Adeline and Eleanor Lamb-Weber of Los Angeles, niece Anna-Marie Henne of Philadelphia and sister Margaret McDade of Douglas, Georgia.
