Several members of the youth group from Rolling Hills Baptist Church battled the summer heat recently as they conducted a “Monday Mission” at Marnelle Mobile Home Park, helping with yard work and clean up at the home of an elderly and disabled resident. Because of health and mobility reasons, the resident is unable to tend to her own yard. So the youth took care of everything for her — mowing, raking, pulling weeds, and cleaning out a trailer full of miscellaneous stuff that needed to be disposed of.

The yard work was part of Rolling Hills’ Monday Mission program, a youth summer vacation program which is geared toward “serving others as an expression of God’s love toward them.”

According to senior pastor Frank Mercer, Monday Missions is “an opportunity to put ‘Monday feet’ to Sunday’s words.”
