It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua Davon Gresham, who left us far too soon at the age of 25 on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Joshua was a beloved son, brother, friend, and colleague whose vibrant spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew him.
Born on October 26, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia, Joshua was known for his infectious enthusiasm and his unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. He was a beacon of kindness and compassion. Despite his own struggles with health, he faced each day with remarkable strength and a spirit that uplifted everyone around him. His resilience and unwavering optimism were a testament to his character and deeply touched all who knew him.
He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 2017 and continued his education by earning a degree in HVAC Technology from Atlanta Technical College. Driven by an unwavering commitment to uplifting and supporting others, he channeled his passion into a career with Fayette County Public Schools.
Joshua was a passionate outdoorsman who found immense joy in fishing and exploring nature. His adventurous spirit was matched by his dedication to his work and his warm, approachable demeanor. He loved to strike up conversations, always eager to engage with others, and he treated everyone as a friend, never considering anyone a stranger.
He is remembered by those who were touched by his kindness, humor, and generosity. His abilty to bring joy to others, even in the face of his own challenges, was a testament to his extraordinary spirit.
Joshua is survived by his parents; Dr. Oluseyi and Ireka Adeniran; siblings, Kyon, Aaron, Abimbola, Titi, Seun, Tobi, Dayo, and Tomi; great-grandmother, Melissa Gresham; grandparents; Richard and Rosa Sims, Ricky Gresham; godparents, Peter and Carol Gaddis; uncles, aunts, and a host of extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A celebration of Joshua’s life was held on August 25, 2024, in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville at 4:00 PM. Visitation occurred prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
Joshua’s legacy of compassion, determination, and joy will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
