Vivian Katherine Revis, 81, of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away June 12, 2024. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 12, 1943, to Jewell and Mattie Ruth Fields. Vivian retired from the Clayton County Board of Education.
Vivian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was married to her loving husband, Bud, for 61 years. She was an avid reader, being a frequent visitor to the county library. Mystery novels were her favorite.
Having her grandchildren at her house and preparing family meals was something she always did as an excellent cook. She had an unpredictable and unique sense of humor. Vivian never missed an opportunity to recognize a family milestone. She was truly the family matriarch who was enormously loved and will be terribly missed.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Revis, and two grandchildren, Jennifer Masters and Jonathan George. She is survived by her daughters, Angie (Dale) Masters, Teresa (Jim) George and Sandy (Scott) McElroy; grandchildren, Paige (Jacob) Collins, Amy (Joey) Lawrence, Caroline George, Hannah McElroy, and Cameron McElroy; and three great-grandchildren, Corey Collins, Emma Collins, and Joe Lawrence. Vivian also leaves behind sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
